In March 2020, just days before the first COVID-19 lockdowns, the business completed a significant European acquisition, adding approximately 25,000 employees to its workforce. As a multi-billion-dollar, NASDAQ-listed organisation, the client required an experienced HR leader who could rapidly stabilise the people agenda, manage complex European Working Council requirements, and lead integration across multiple jurisdictions — all at speed and in a fully remote environment.
The Solution
Working exclusively with the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, JSS conducted a highly targeted search to identify a VP Human Resources, Europe, with deep post-acquisition integration experience and a strong track record within large, complex international organisations. JSS quickly delivered a focused shortlist and successfully placed a candidate who combined technical expertise, cultural fit, and immediate availability.
The Impact
Despite onboarding remotely, the newly appointed VP Human Resources, Europe rapidly embedded into the organisation and developed a clear understanding of its strategic objectives. They designed and implemented a Human Resources strategy to support the European integration, strengthened employee engagement, and helped establish a high-performance, people-centred culture across the newly expanded workforce.
